35MM

We prefer to use the sharp and contrasty Lomo prime lenses - what we feel are some of the greatest lenses in the world!

We own two Konvas 35mm Reflex Motion Picture Cameras. Crystal Sync motors with crystal controlled speeds from 8fps to 32fps, as well as a Super35 (aka Super-35mm) gate, if you want. We like to use prime lenses, since there is less glass to go thru, resulting in a sharper picture. We own a wide variety too, including a set of anamorphic lenses, so that the budget doesn't have to be inflated by expensive rental fees..

16MM & SUPER8

For 16mm work we use the Eclair NPR (Crystal Sync) 16mm Reflex. It's THE 16mm film workhorse. Capable of shooting for 10 minutes without reloading magazines, this camera is great for shooting in locations where sync sound needs to be recorded.
B&H Filmo 70DA

Our crash cam - the Filmo 70DA (little brother to the Eyemo), modified to shoot in a 1:1.85 ratio for blowup to HDTV and 35mm specs. It is able to capture at up to 64fps, which is great for doing slow-motion type work.

We have several professional super8 cameras we can use to capture great images, but our favorite is the Minolta Autopak-8 D10. Its fast 7-70mm Minolta Rokkor zoom lens is big and beautiful and can really get in to the subject. The camera is capable of doing single frame stop motion for animation work, time-lapse, and can shoot at frame-rates up to 50 frames per second for slow-motion shots! Don't be fooled by the name Super 8, this is a professional film camera used for great looking work.

HIGH DEFINITION

And finally, no cinema arsenal would be complete without the new High-Definition camera from Sony: the Z1U. It records in HD 1080i60 & 1080i50 modes, as well as NTSC and PAL, making it capable of recording in all worldwide formats! This means we can shoot high quality HD or SD footage anywhere in the world that you need us to go!

IT's HERE: HD35!

You read that right, HD35. It's a cross between High Definition and 35mm - and it's beautiful. You get the Shallow Depth of Field of 35mm along with the immediacy of High Definition. Interested? Contact us.
